About a year ago, I released the initial version of Chrome Extension Kit with one goal in mind: make it easier for anyone, experienced or not, to build and launch Chrome Extensions. Traditionally, a lot of the initial time spent on extension development is manifest and environment setup, so I wanted to remove that hurdle with a series of common starting points. This is a great update — and adds support for the Chrome Manifest v3 , which has been a long time coming and changes things for extension devs. It also lands just as Apple is getting more serious about cross-platform extensions for Safari !
