Great idea for those of us who are time crunched
Hey folks - I got tired of checking Hacker News all the time but I wasn't quite ready to break the habit. The stories that surface there can be too good! I put together a little queue that would scrape the top stories all the time, and then aggregate them into an email. I really liked it, because even when you're super busy, you can go back to your inbox when you have time and catch up.
How is this different than subscribing to news channels on your phone and getting notifications on the top stories?
Discussion threads divided by interest score. Above 0.30 is strong. Below 0.15 suggests the product got clicks but not conversation.
Categories come from the product's launch tags. Most products appear in 2-3 categories. The primary category is listed first.
The scores reflect launch-period engagement. Historical data is preserved and doesn't change retroactively. The build date at the bottom shows when the index was last refreshed.
