I’m excited to share Song Sweeper. This started from a personal frustration. Like a lot of people, my music library has grown over the years - and with Apple Music making it so easy to add anything, it got messy fast. Duplicate songs. Albums split across editions. Idea: I would need a tool that would swap my old 128kbps songs for 320kbps for better quality. 😅
Really interesting that Apple deprecated direct song deletion and you had to pivot to the playlist workaround. I'm dealing with a similar constraint on the photos side, where PhotoKit sends everything to Recently Deleted instead of letting you remove it outright. Nice initiative, would love to use this on other music platforms since I do not use apple music, where I have multiple versions of the same song, for example remastered, the original one, alternative versions of the same songs all somewhere in the "liked songs"
In this category, “explainability” may matter as much as detection accuracy for retention. Would you consider adding a decision card for each cleanup action (why it was marked duplicate, why keep A/delete B, and rollback window) so users feel safer doing bulk actions?
