This is a really good idea. I am considering using a message queue as an event source for all of my web events for my analytics tool, Atribusi. The idea is that whenever I need to upgrade or update my PostgreSQL database then I'll have all of the events saved and I can replay them later into PostgreSQL without worrying about it. It does add an extra layer which is a bit annoying.
