Food-waste is a subject which I'm personally very passionate about. I saw a documentary some time ago which mentioned that 40% of all food goes to waste. So basically, all that water, all that energy into growing that food is just wasted. Upon that, the thrown away food gets taken to dumpsters where it slowly rots and produce Methane and other greenhouse gases which cause global warming.
