We are two recent Computer Science grads. During our degrees, we became acquainted with LaTeX, the standard software for writing STEM papers and other maths-heavy documents. That software is powerful, but almost 40 years old, difficult to learn, slow, and riddled with obtuse error messages. So we decided to build something better, just as a side project 😉. I'm absolutely amazed by the quality of Typst.I'm a math / CS teacher and I've been using LaTeX for decades, litterally. My own LaTeX settings file is full of "esoteric references" to ancient package, looks like alchemy and takes ages compiling. I find Typst delightfully compact, blazing fast and very refreshing. Not to mention the awesome possibilities offered with scripting ! Keep on the good work, I'll keep talking about Typst all around me !
